99 Club has been launched across the whole school. This scheme is designed to improve children’s knowledge of times tables which we know helps them to access a wider range of mathematics.
The children are tested every other week on a mixed range of multiplication facts following which they identify 5 that they need to work on. These 5 should be learnt as part of their weekly homework. To support your child it would be helpful if you could ensure that they are learning these facts inside out and back to front. For example do they know that 3x4=12, 4x3=12, 12÷3=4 and 12÷4=3?
Once a child, within the fortnightly test, correctly answers all the questions within ten minutes they progress to the next level. As the children progress they will be working towards being a '99 Club Champion'. These children will have shown that they know all their tables up to 12x12 and the related division facts. Children who reach Championship quality will be awarded a special medal in Celebration Assembly.
