  • Y5 & Y6 Food Fiesta

    Fri 27 Sep 2019

Our first International Food Fiestas was a huge success.  We want to say a huge thank you to all who supported this event.  The children had a wonderful time and learned so much.

This event has been designed to give the children and their       parents a chance to have fun together, try new foods, celebrate the diversity within our school community and meet     other families too.  Pop the dates in your diary:

     Y5/6—Friday 27th Sept , Y4/3—Friday 11th Oct, FS—Friday 25th Oct

Please start thinking about what food you’re going to make to   represent your home culture and come along to help your children in their quiz and games, meeting other parents along the way.

A huge thank you to all our helpers!

  • Climate Strike 20th Sept 2019

    Fri 20 Sep 2019

    When

On Friday 20th September, there will be a Climate Strike in many towns and cities across the world.

    Why?

The aim of the strike is to show solidarity in a plea for governments to take action. Children and students have been striking on Fridays for over a year and this strike aims to involve all generations. It has been over 5 months since a climate emergency was declared in UK and also in Cheltenham and yet we have seen little change. As stewards of God’s creation, we are supportive of this action at St Gregory’s and welcome you and your children to take part if you wish to do so.

    How can you take part?

The Strike falls across lunchtime on Friday 20th Sept (this Friday) and attendance will not be affected as long as your child is signed out around midday and then signed back into school by 1.15pm (this extends afternoon registration by 15mins after the Strike finishes to give children chance to get back to school).

    More Information

Details of the Cheltenham Strike can be found here: https://ukscn.org/events/?postcode=GL20%207PU

If you wish to know more about the climate emergency we are facing, please talk to Mrs Oliver or Mrs McKenzie-Ford.

“Like Saint Francis of Assisi, all of us, as Christians, are called to watch over and protect the fragile world in which we live, and all its peoples.” Evangelii Gaudium (Joy of the Gospel), Pope Francis

“This is not a single-generation job. It’s humanity’s job…Let’s all join together; neighbours, co-workers, friends, family and go out on to the streets to make our voices heard and make this a turning point in our history.” Greta Thunberg
