Year 4 Bread making unit - Dec 2025
Year 4 have been inspired by famous baker Paul Hollywood to design and make their own seasonally designed bread rolls. They have learnt about whether the ingredients have been grown, reared, processed or caught and then developed their skills of accurate measuring as well as kneading and proving.
The children have loved creating such tasty breads.

Year 5 Textiles designing and making tunics - Nov 2025
Year 5 have been inspired by the famous textiles designer and director of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri. They were given the task to design a tunic for a teddy using their knowledge of Ancient Greece and using stitches including back stitch. Their design had to fit their own design criteria and be aesthetically pleasing. The children solidified their learning of pattern pieces from year 4 to support their making stage. This year, our year 5 children also made their pieces out of recycled material, meaning that they were also looking after the environment too. The children have loved creating such wonderful and individual tunics.

Year 2 Moon buggy unit - Oct 2025
Year 2 have been inspired by famous mechanical engineer Eduardo San Juan to design and make their own Moon buggy. They learnt all about how axels allow wheels to turn and then used junk modelling to design and then make their own creations. Using recycled materials the children made sure that we could protect Gods creation. The children used their class design brief to make sure their Moon buggy designs would be successful. The children have loved creating such incredible Moon buggies.

Year 4 Shaduf unit - Sept 2025
Year 4 have been inspired by famous designer and engineer Simcha Blass to design and make their own irrigation system based on the Ancient Egyptian shaduff. They have learnt about stability and strength as well as the skills involved in using saws and hot glue guns safely. The children used all these skills to design and make their own shaduffs. The children were really proud of their designs.
