Chaplaincy Team  Carrying out Leaders in Faith

In these sessions, the children take one of our Catholic Social Teaching principles and break it down, so that it can be fully understood, and link it to actions that our classes would have experience of within school, in our wider community and in world events. This ensures that the children understand how the principles of Catholic Social Teaching are relevant to us today and how we are asked to live as responsible global citizens in accordance with our Catholic faith.

Leaders in Faith Training

In our Chaplaincy Team meetings, we take time to plan and practice for our Leaders in Faith sessions. The children are also given support on how to manage the classes, make their questions relevant to the different age groups and to encourage the children to participate and make their voices heard. Feedback from class teachers is always positive and they regularly comment on the competency of The Chaplaincy Team to simplify some big ideas so that our youngest children can understand the importance of these concepts.

Rights and Resp

In our most recent RE Monitoring Visit in 2019, it was noted how much The Chaplaincy Team enjoys this aspect of their role and carry it out very well!

“The recent work on Catholic Social Teaching is an excellent example of how the ethos is being constantly embedded in all the school does. The involvement of pupils in this process as well as staff means the whole community will be able to take ownership.”

“The chaplaincy team are enthusiastic and want to develop their work. They take their responsibilities seriously and are a credit to the school.  This area is a clear strength of the school.”
