The Catholic School of St Gregory The Great Believe and Achieve

Holy Communion

First Holy Communion is an important stage in your child’s spiritual development. When your child was baptised, he/she was welcomed into the family of the Church. Holy Communion is the Sacrament which binds us together as God’s family, providing strength and spiritual nourishment for our journey in faith together. During the preparation for this Sacrament, we will also be preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).

Y3 is traditionally the year group in which baptised Roman Catholic children receive the sacrament of their First Holy Communion.

The course for this is run by our Parish in close collaboration with the Parish schools of St Gregory’s and St Thomas More’s.

To register your child for the First Holy Communion course and find out about how it will work, please email admin@st-gregorygreat.gloucs.sch.uk or please ask Mrs Blanch, Mrs Lines or Mrs Penney at the school gate.
